I am a 20 something professional breaking into the world of behavioral science. I am particularly interested in social behaviors, especially those of children. I am constantly balancing traditional and alternative views on just about everything that has to relate to how we view development. I typically stand on the side of alternative approaches to education and social development with a strong understanding and respect for traditional methods as well. In my personal life - due to my experiences as an oldest child and the go-to-babysitter - and as a professional, I have worked with children since I was a teenager. It was through this work that I was able to engender a basic philosophy about how to approach supporting the intellectual, personal, emotional and physical growth of a human being from infancy to adulthood. I believe that supporting the intellectual growth of a person starts by encouraging a natural love for learning and feeding a natural curiosity for life with with interactive learning experiences. I also believe that personal growth comes from encouraging the acceptance and respect of one's being while learning to accept and respect the differences of others as well as one's self. I believe that the emotional growth of a person comes from learning and identifying the range of emotions that every human being can experience, while learning to discipline and to sympathize with these feelings within themselves and others through healthy/constructive forms of self-expression. Finally, I believe that the physical growth of a person comes from understanding and respecting one's body and personal space as well as the body and personal space of another. If I do hub, I hub with these principals in mind.
